Ticker Tape

Another finish & tutorial I never wrote up.

Rainbow Ticker Tape

Pictures are dated July 2012
This is made from rainbow charms from a 2012 swap.
 Cut charms in half
 Then random thirds

Layout placement of colors, I used 1 yard of black as the background
 Pin
 I left a space for a label
Used the letter feature on my machine along with some stabilizer
After I finished I realized I messed up a tad, I didnt stitch my pieces down through the layers of top/batting/backing
I suggest this to be done if you give it a try.

again I made a mistake,
here you see my finish as a turn and top stitch.
I used velour as the backing

 Time to trim those strings

All those strings actually look kinda pretty to me

 Coordinating Rabbit

 Rolled all pretty
A card to go with :)

Tasty Thursday ~ Bunless Burger

I'm sure by now you see a pattern with my food featured here on Tasty Thursday (previously Tasty Tuesday).
I eat Paleo style, Hubby eats Primal, my little girl is gluten free and the boys eat everything.
I also have allergies that most can eat with a paleo lifestyle, sadly, I am allergic too Shellfish & Dairy (casein), I am intolerant (waiting to test) to Grapes, Coconut, Gluten.
Occasionally I "cheat" with rice/corn/beans/potatoes. Those are cheats for me verses ice cream or candy or soda.

For years I didn't eat hamburgers, seriously I went about 8 years without a burger.

Today I'm posting a favorite of mine and my husbands.

Bunless Burger

 Mine is a spicy burger-

pickled jalapenos, sauteed bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, bacon, tomato, pickles placed inside two large green leaf or romaine pieces

I stack the lettuce one to the left and one to the right and build the burger on one end, fold lettuce over place toothpicks and slice in half.

Even my daughter eats hers this way, with pickle only, little stinker took out the bacon :P

Feb Goal~ finish

My goal for the month over at ALYOF was to complete the top of this HST BOM.
It is done.
Completely put together.

Blocks up on the wall,
I placed them in order of the month just like in the BOM.

 Oct.

I was on a roll and realized a bit to late I forgot to take pictures of Nov/Dec blocks before piecing.

My Little Pony & Rainbow theme :)
Invitations post
Work in progress post

 Taste the Rainbow.......

Here I had to be a bit inventive, I really didn't want the grill in the pictures so I put up a wall of sorts as the backdrop for the presents table so now the pictures of her opening her gifts show a much prettier and fun background.
 Nail painting
 Horn & Tiara decorating

 Rainbow cake!!!
Blue frosting just like Rainbow dash (her favorite pony)

Tasty Thursday~ Fried Green Tomatoes

With a twist that is.

Topped with bacon, egg, salsa, YUM!

Paleo style too :)
(grain free, gluten free, dairy free, coconut free)

Slice your green tomatoes into your needed count
one bowl has almond meal
one bowl has scrambled seasoned eggs
Lightly flour, then dip, then flour

I used EVOliveOil and browned up the slices.

Once cooked through on both sides I plated with bacon, pouched egg, fresh salsa

Destash

After my clean up I realized I could/need to let some fabric go.
I have a 19 pc FQ Bundle of Ty Pennington Impressions up for grabs over in the shop.
