A new direction

So I've been thinking, alot, especially since the accident and I feel strongly about a new direction for Noguchi Designs.

I've always sewn, gifted everything in the beginning, then came my Little Lady and I moved on to Dresses and Toys (mostly) and opened shop. I love what I do, SEWING, it is a hobby for me not a job. I don't do well with stocking dates or times, I can function with a custom just fine in a turnaround that's pleasing to both myself and the buyer. I feel I shouldn't stress out over a hobby.

No I'm not closing, I am just slowing down and not committing anything. If I get a stuffed animal urge, then hey, I'll post that new Toys are available, or if I find a totally great Kyoko fabric I just have to make, I'll announce that there's new stock up. So on and so forth.

Now with the Quilting that I'm trying out, I'd love to have others enjoy them, I will try to find places to donate too, gift them as needed or wanted and maybe get lucky and sell one.

Just this month I made and donated 10 dresses to Dress A Girl. Do you know how super great it felt to drop that package off at the PO yesterday?

Oh so wonderful! that's how.

She was done up during this past week,

ordered by a hubby in Kuwait to be sent to his fairy collecting wife

Bubba "Daddy" Doll



It was such a pleasure to make this special guy,
he went home to be loved and hugged by an 18mon old boy who's about to experience a deployment.
He is custom made to look like Daddy even down to his clothes which are upcycled from an old ABU top.
Being an Active Duty Military family this just tugs at my heart and it was such a great feeling to send him home.

Wk 3 of 52

This one gets to stay right here with me, it's for dd's 4th Birthday.

She picked out the buttons a few weeks ago and I had no clue what to do with them.

Then she picked out the fabric last week saying she wanted me to make her a Birthday Dress, "woohoo" I thought, since she never wants anything I make.

So after trying out a few new ideas/patterns, mixed and blended here & there we got this lovely piece done up in Michael Miller Mini Bouquet

Birthday Dress

This is done in a size 7,

the largest a Kyoko can currently come in,

IMO it would fit a wide range of girls,

the length is adjustable,

here I did add on 3in as requested,
the waist line is really roomy with the Obi bringing it in to a fit and adding more effect to the twirly skirt

(I apologize for the flat pictures, I dont have a mannequin big enough)

She is complete!
Testing went well, I got great feedback, did a few changes & now she's ready to be stocked.

who put in custom request for the scent, the eye & hair color,
she even picked out Ellie's first outfit.




The Sissy doll will be sold as semi custom slots & as ready to go dolls.
A semi custom is where the doll body is complete,
you get to customize the eyes & hair, choose scent.
Sissy will come with one outfit on with the option to purchase more individually or as a pack.
Here are some outfit choices-prints will vary.



Currently there are 3 Skin Tones to choose from, more to come.



The Sissy Doll is made from 100% cotton muslin fabric,
hair is 100% cotton yarn,
she is stuffed with Polyfil,
all items are made in the US & Canada.

She will be scented with herbs & Essential Oil
Current choices are Lavender, Eucalyptus Mint & Lemongrass
