Half Apron

Just for me :-)

It's not to often I sew for myself, family, or home.
Tonight after I finished up what was on the sewing table I got to thinking about the craft fair I have next weekend realizing I didn't have an apron. I had borrowed my booth partners last year.

So with 3 FQ and about an hour or so, I present to you......

Sellers Half Apron ~ Worked up in Sweet Stitches
Buttons, Stitches and Patterns~ Oh My!
(featured on a child size model does it no justice)
22in wide and 11in long and has 3 front pockets
Tutorial to come soon

And just for fun, here's what I'll be wearing

Autumn Table Runner

Over on Sew SwapIt (a group on FB) this month was swap a table runner in Halloween or Autumn theme. I made one, posted it, sat there for a few days staring at it, decided to make a different one.

This is 15x45, made with 48 HST, a spin on a couple of the HST from the BOM I follow, I took two I liked and made them bigger. I'm hoping to get a tutorial up soon, bare with me though I keep getting stuck trying to type it up.

I made 6 coasters out of a few extra squares to go along with the runner and to round it off as a set.

Tasty Tuesday

Cooking on the grill tonight.
NY steak and veggies.
Seriously 20 min is all this took.
Turn on grill, med-low
Season steaks as you please, I used Montreal steak seasoning mix
Chop veggies, sprinkle with lemon juice, season to taste, I did fresh parsley salt pepper red pepper flakes. Toss and place on tinfoil, make a makeshift bowl/pan.
Take veggies and steaks to grill, place veggie bowl on top rack and steak on bottom, I like medium well so I set the timer for 4 1/2 mins, flip steaks set again 4 1/2 mins
Pull steaks off to sit and leave veggies on, set timer to 5 mins, pull off veggie bowl.
Dinner is done!
Now for the kids I did fry up French fries while cooking the meat and veggies, still took 20 mins.

Remember September

My first go at one of the ereader covers thats being collected for Remember September is the following Kindle cover. I followed this tutorial and tweaked it to my liking /stash.
I pulled out 3 coordinating fabrics I had, cut 2.5in by WOF and placed out 5 strips to be used.
I also QAYG (quilt as you go) so that the inside was also quilted and its a plus that it helped with the time of project start to finish.  Under an hour.
On the plus side, I got to work on the proper way to bind, maybe after a few more of these I'll try it out on a quilt.

Now I gave a Pillowcase a shot too, my Mac was being occupied by my little Miss watching Pocahontas (I actually started it, she came to watch with me :-P )
So I didn't have a tut or pattern available, I improvised, I pulled out a clean standard pillowcase I owned and made one by looking and measuring it, I was a few inches short of the WaterLily print so my top border is a few inches wider than most.

My youngest

She started kindergarten today.
I can't believe it, 5 yrs went by very quickly. Not only is she my youngest but my only daughter (out of four kids) and my last.
She was so excited she was up and ready a full hour early, excited as can be to ride the bus.
I'm off now to go meet her, just wanted to share her picture with you.
