Woo Hoo!
My first package arrived from The Intrepid Thread for the Gypsy Wife BOM.
(Not sure what I'm talking about? Here's my debating with a happy ending post.
Pattern Book and block one fabrics along with a few pieces for fillers later on.
My version of block one
How I'm storing it all, the bag holds the book, blocks, extra pieces and the bag of scraps

scrappy charm coasters
I admit these were needed as I seem to have coffee cups & water glasses breeding in my office/sewing room.
cut all in half
arrange three piles of three halves
sew together
cut in half again
arrange into 9 patch
sew together
I arranged each one differently
cut batting to size and backing an inch bigger on all sides
quilt as desired and use backing as binding

Rainbow love!
Yes the rainbow bug has biten :)
A long while back I swapped rainbow charm squares in dots/stripes/solids swap over on Flickr.
Here & there I've used one or two for swap blocks or applique then I came upon this pixelated heart.
I knew instantly that I had to use the rainbow charms to make a quilt. A large one at that.
Progress so far

catching up.....
I sew and take pictures but fail to upload and blog them, alot!
If you follow on Facebook you see way more teases of projects than those that ever make to written form.
Today's post is about the sewn holiday gifts I gave this past year.
Table topper and coasters that went to my aunt & her husband.
A light weight coat that went to a family friends son.
Two pairs of cloth napkins that I gifted my mom.
Table runner for my grandparents.
Garlic/Rosemary infused Olive Oil topped with a bird ornament, a total of three went out to teachers.
A set of hankies for my other grandparents, made with the hexies I've been working on.
And lastly I sent out a surprise package to a wonderful lady and her family who spend all year sewing and gifting to others, a family of birds for each member of her home.

Layer Cake Quilt
On the table.....
Linking to
Show & Tell Tuesday
I wanted to get in here and work on something without having to buy anything,
so on the hunt I went to find a quilt top pattern that only uses a layer cake.
Here's the pattern that I found, Basic Math Quilt.
I used a walk in the woods layer cake.
This went together super quick & turned out way bigger than I expected. I'm hoping to find a backing this week (that I'll have to shop for).
