Gypsy Wife p.2

The second fabric package arrived at the end of Feb.
I had a bit of trouble with this block.
Me & my seam ripper got real comfy together.

I'm still a beginner, I like short cut ways of doing HST or Flying geese. Traditional piecing is a bit difficult for me and I am realizing I don't quite understand the pattern/instructions as written very well.
(or maybe they are missing some info a beginner needs to hear/read to understand)

I was hoping to love this quilt along but grinding my teeth as I read through the block is not a good sign.

  1. Oh dear :( That doesn't sound like a very friend QAL. You aren't supposed to be stressed! The block does look beautiful though!

  4. Your block looks beautiful and I hope you find some tutorials that are better for a beginner. I know I try and always include lots of photos and directions in my tutorials. Thanks for sharing.

  7. There are days when we all spend more time ripping out stitches, then putting them in. You did an amazing job on that block. It's beautiful and your piecing is lovely. I'm sorry you so much frustration making it but it certainly doesn't show in your work.
